Barrington All-on-4 Dental Implants
While many people who have suffered complete loss of their permanent teeth have relied on dentures in the past, implants are becoming a popular choice because they provide a permanent and comfortable solution. Gone are the days of dentures embarrassing slipping around or falling out when those messy pastes won’t hold them in place. And while implants cost more, over time, they can make all the difference in your dental health because they prevent your bone and jaw tissue from shrinking away (which can lead to facial collapse) and they look and feel just like natural teeth.
All-on-4 Implants – An Affordable Alternative
If you do have some jawbone shrinkage, All-on-4 dental implants are an alternative to bone grafting. All-on-4 implants require a simple placement of four implant screws, and the prosthetic bridge is
firmly attached to the four dental implant screws, and that means no slipping around or falling out like traditional dentures.
Are All-on-4 implants right for you?
You will still undergo a surgical procedure requiring a mild anesthesia or sedation when you have the implant screws placed. Once the surgery is complete, Dr. Bonk will then begin attaching your prosthetic dental bridge. In the days and weeks following surgery, your jaw will form a bond with the implants. You should avoid eating any foods that could break the bonds beginning to form.
What are the advantages?
- Instant, beautiful and natural-looking smile
- A comfortable, long-term solution
- Brush your implants just like natural teeth
- No messy adhesives or gels
- You’ll feel like you have a full set of natural teeth
What are the disadvantages?
All-on-4 implants are more expensive than removable dentures, and they may not be appropriate for everyone because there is a certain amount of risk. Dr. Bonk can help you determine if you are a good candidate and explain any risks that might pertain to your situation.
